They didn't do it. No one's listening to me right now. No one's listening to me the band The festival organizers the directors they're not listening to me they're listening to everybody else, but not me For Bonnarooians there is Christmas there is lineup Day, and then there is schedule day. It's schedule week. So this is like the biggest Day or week whatever you want to call it of the year right guys. It's one of them. Yeah, it definitely is It dropped right as our last episode dropped to almost the exact same time So we're just now getting to it and I'm happy to do it. Yeah, I was supposed to come out last Tuesday They had a little delay or something. Not sure but they put it out on Wednesday, which was same day Our episode came out. So alright, you guys are listening obviously to the what podcast I'm Barry. That's Bryan. That's Lord taco or Russ We're going to talk about the lineup we've have a whole bunch of other news we've got some events Something we have plenty to talk about but we're going to dive into the lineup Not the deep deep dive because we haven't still done our Deep dive into the axe, but we're going to go through the lineup Quick correction from a couple of weeks ago, and I want to thank we probably have the most We probably have the most highly paid fact checker that I know of He's not quick. He's not fast But he gets back to us as he said your two-week old fact checker Brad Parker reached out To let us know we don't we don't pay them to be clear. We don't pay. Yeah, we don't pay him I couldn't afford the guy But he is our fact checker as he pointed out in a text that he sent me That Plaza seven is not the farthest away from Earth as we Indicated in a show a couple of weeks ago. It's actually right there by the The tower it's probably the closest one to Centeroo. Yeah, it's still not right That close to Centeroo at all Closest to it's closer than Then then I certainly made it sound Anybody who is around here regularly? For this show or anything else in my life if it's a deal-breaker that I get things wrong then you're done You're out of here. You're never gonna listen to show again I my head seven one two three four five six seven Yeah, yeah, I'm thinking further. Yeah. Yeah, I want to be right and if we're not let's get it, right So you go out there and listen to banjo players in the bluegrass act on the who stage in Plaza seven So there you go. If you know what we're talking about, you know what we're talking about. It's gonna be a big time Yeah, it's not quite all the way BFE I mean it is pretty central so it's it's no further out than group for sure All right. So the big news and we're gonna jump right into it is the lineup came out We know the schedule came out sketch. Excuse me. Excuse me schedule lineup has been out the schedule came out So now is when we all start doing our where are our conflicts? We start making our Plans for how each day is gonna fall And as we've said a hundred times since we began this show Make your schedule make you line up put it on paper laminate it Look at it stare at it memorize it and then forget. Yeah, and then don't never happen. Yeah As we record this on Easter morning, what's the old saying? We plan God laughs. Yeah Like that's kind of what this is gonna be about but it's still a really fun exercise I'm speaking of laminating our friend Lindsay put out his annual Printable schedules that he always makes every year and he put that on reddit So that's a good place to start if you're looking to make a like a physical copy like like we sometimes do well I used to be my only contribution to Camp nut butter was the But it was always wrong many times it was wrong. Yes. Hey, there you go Taco the callback. Yeah, it was I missed several bands cuz my damn on-site schedule was primitive times though guys Pick it up and look and say that's not today. That's tomorrow That was last night. Yeah, that was there was a bad There was a bad year where I really screwed things up for a lot of people real fast before we're gonna talk I'm gonna just give you a look back at sweet water 420 for Saturday this past weekend And my voice is wrecked because of it. So I apologize for that, but we'll continue for now It's alright mine still a little bit sore and raw from dogs in a pile show that we went to that we'll talk about also at the end, but Let's get into this lineup or the sketch Schedule yeah First thoughts First thoughts. Well, there's a lot of them. I went day by day here on them I guess I looked a lot of Outeroo too. I I looked at the Outeroo schedule more Than I've maybe ever looked at it. Uh-huh me too. Yeah, and Boy, it's cool, you know, I don't know what half of this stuff is But it's it's really cool and I'll just say as we We have our printables out here together and kind of going through them and I'm just starting from day one I mean on Wednesday just a shout out to the robust guys and all and gals and all them I mean they what they've turned in or made Wednesday I mean they've kind of I don't want to say single-handedly because no one's single-handedly does anything at Bonnarooo But they've really really made Wednesday pretty destination a destination for many and and they're a big part of that So they got a big big robust party on Wednesday I'm really glad you you sort of said that and said it the way you did because I had the same thought the Outeroo Schedule to me is the more interesting for some reason this year and the fact that it starts on Wednesday And you know, we've said it on here many many times but What it's amazing how much these guys Brad Parker our buddy who everybody like I said everybody Dropped his name like they like he lives in their house. He's become that sort of ubiquitous. Yeah Testaments him to be so accessible to so many people absolutely, but it's amazing They listen and how much this event has Changed think about it. I mean Bryan again You and I have been going for a long long time 17 18 years for me you since the beginning think about how this has changed and that Outeroo schedule Line up whatever you want to call it. It is indicative of what we're talking about I mean just the fact that there is a printed schedule of events on Wednesday and how how curated it's it's gotten and how much work people put into it like The house of yes on Wednesday, right the waffle house of yes. The hell is that? sounds cool Frick frack blackjack where apparently you can go and gamble just about anything gamble anything You can gamble this this this ink pen around if you want I guess an old boat You know your clothes whatever when when reddit first started talking about the Frick frack blackjack I was like what the hell y'all talking about? Yeah, they were so excited whoever they is they were so excited and they're doing multiple Rounds of yeah the blackjack out in the Outeroo So if that's what I mean, that's a great way to end your night, right? You've had a great day you go back and you can go watch people gamble lose all your All the candy they can't come in your trinkets. Yeah, yeah You can lose it all the stuff all that you gather throughout the day Put it all in the middle of the table push it all to the front and they hit me and I know house Yes, they've got a lot of things planned the Rue Lask and the wet nightmare, which is a great name by the way Yeah, that's just Wednesday. So and that's just Wednesday. Yeah, that's a full day and and I'm glad you mentioned Daniel and Sharla and the Rue bus and all their crew. I Mean that that's a full Festival in and of itself it goes all day long starting at four o'clock with With the totem stuff and then and then and artists and I'm guessing most of these are DJ style things I just I don't know but it goes all day. So and it ends at One o'clock with confirmed which I'm dying to know is that like a typo that they've just confirmed something or that tonight? That's that's an in joke because everyone remember every year everyone always says Oh deaf punk confirmed I figured it was some sort of job a daft punk cover band or tribute tribute Let's back let's back up and go back to Tuesday I mean we don't have an Outeroo Tuesday lineup, but some people in our discord have posted a few Unofficial Tuesday events that they're trying to push out there tacos dance party Party at the Rue at the bus True Tuesday meet at the arch Tuesday at 6 o'clock p.m It just says bring energy. So I guess that's kind of just like a if you're there Tuesday You got nothing else to do. You might as well meet up. That's at the arch and then somebody posted something Tuesday night Night zero a live DJ set and all levels of yoga There's says meet in group at 8 p.m. For the sunset yoga 830 to 930 and DJs after that. So You know we talked about it's amazing there's even stuff to do Wednesday There's even stuff to do Tuesday At some point there'll be a Tuesday schedule that we can look at This thing is quickly becoming all week If it were up to me, I'd say we should stop at Wednesday If you're up to me, I know Taco Tuesday's sacred to you. So I'm sorry, but anywho, he'll be there and we'll be hearing about it, but we won't be there Yeah, I'll be there but Thursday boy, you know and I when I mentioned the other month We I wasn't trying to be hyperbolic when I when I said that the 2020 lineup I or I think that this 25 lineup might be better than 20 and Then when I just kind of said that out loud and then and then I had to think well maybe I should think about that before I say it and then but then I reconfirmed myself that I'd still believe that because Thursday is is The difference in those two years in that five-year stretch Thursday was still a nothing day. Yeah in 2020 move-in day Yeah, I mean there was still plenty of good bands playing on the this and that it's Thursday's been a thing for a while But this year's Thursday, this is a real day Move-in day and Discovery Day. Yeah, this is Yeah, and Grand Ole Opry day, which you know, yeah and Grand Ole Opry day Which was fun for a minute, but after a while it ran its course, but You guys want to start on Thursday you want me to start on Thursday. What do you want to do? Thursday's good. Yeah, go ahead. It's it's gonna be a big day for us and we'll talk about that. Yeah Yeah, but the I mean, I think the biggest news here is who saw three What stage acts on Thursday? I didn't see that as a rumor anywhere. I didn't see anybody Wondering out loud. Do you think there'll be more than one like this one is another Bonnarooo? surprise Where they I mean Wilderado, right is how you say their name. They're lower on the original poster They're not up at the top and they're they're on and a lot of times what stage acts in the early day are kind of like Hey, here's a I don't know like an industry push like we're gonna throw and we'll get to it in a minute like flip turn I mean, I'm flip turn hasn't ascended to monster stage status yet, but they're gonna be on the what this year but Wilderado Macklemore was the one for me. Yeah, that was about early afternoon What stage it's the best place in the world to be in those evenings that the what stage man? But Marcus King and then of course Luke Holmes, which we knew that's a good nice long evening on the what I love it Love it. Love it. Love it for Thursday Remind me what Brad again the ubiquitous Brad Parker. What did he tell us about the Thursday that it was They were looking at it Correct me if I'm wrong is an opportunity to do something like this because a guy like Luke Holmes reached out and said hey I'd like to play Bonnarooo and so they said it's got to be a Thursday, but it might not be we're gonna get this type of thing every year Yeah, it's not something necessarily they're they're guaranteed to do every year they're not saying okay Thursday Headliner is a thing every year. But this year Luke Holmes apparently reached out to them and said I want to play and let's make it work and yeah He we've got Thursday he and they and others have said That the that the what on Thursday is not gonna be a thing going forward. I don't believe it for a second It's gonna be it's gonna be a thing going forward every Thursday. It's kind of like Tournaments sporting sporting events other things you add you add you add you rarely take away Rarely do you go backwards, especially with increasing prices and everything in all, you know globe We'll make a note of it and I and I say that without knowing that at all, but I think it would be So foolish to throw a festival down the road and say, you know, y'all really love this Thursday thing We're not gonna do that anymore especially what we just talked about having Tuesday and Wednesday stuff It'd be tough to have a leapfrog and just skip Thursday, but I get it. I they They don't know what they're doing in the next two years from now Or so why you don't want to say well, absolutely we're gonna kill it on Thursday So yeah, but I believe it'll always be there and I let me say I'm wrong I just hope I hope because I think it's a great great great addition to the festival Yeah As far as Thursday on the other stuff that Sticks out from the main lineup of Dom Dahl of course really is kind of the headliner on the other I mean if you ask most people of certain ages way younger than us, right? That's the act for the day and then this tent is stacked all day long I know nothing on that Tent I don't know any of those bands and I know almost all of them on this Even the kitchen balance joy balance is somebody that's been tipped off Okay to check out I like a lot And of course insane clown posse over there. Yeah over on this but like kitchen dwellers They're bluegrass and they're very good. You know, they're very very good band. So yeah that That's my second paper man Kitchen dwellers dogs Daniel Donato and insane clown posse all day long on just this on sat on Thursday Yeah, that's a huge that's really strong. That's really strong. Yeah, and we I mean, let's go ahead and do it Dogs in a pile we we saw Wednesday Here in town three of us went to the show and saw them very I liked it very much Looking forward to seeing them I did say beforehand. I think they are a perfect Bonnarooo act That fits perfectly on the farm. I thought it was a good set I thought I would have changed a little bit around to be honest a Little bit too much jammy in and oh I did want to say Because we asked the question when we interviewed him. Are they a jam band? I think we can confirm they are I Did not expect them To to answer the question any other way than they did. I Expected them to answer it like they did But yes, they are Are a jam man. There is no way around that but Did they play your song Bryan, oh no They did not come June they did not they did not play the song The song is all the same by the way, if you're if you just want to hear a good Slow sweet rock song give it a listen, but they did not and I checked the check the set list since They still haven't They haven't played it since April 12, so they didn't just stick it to me. They're sticking it to everybody It's been April 12th was the last time they played this song they really is speaking of are they jam bands boy, they stick to the formula on the set list and But they did give us a Chad nigga choo-choo instrumental. That was fun. That was really neat little cab Callaway, maybe the Moocher. Yeah, hi Hi Little taste of Zappa in there Little taste of Zappa in there Allison Chains thrown in to right now we were Barry were wrong on that speaking of being wrong It wasn't Allison Chains. It was not it was not a cover song is one of the okay It was a song that we thought we there was one they were playing just to get let everybody in on the on the Conversations of Joe there was a song they were playing. I was like this cannot be a dog We all feel like I know this this is not them This is something else and You quickly grabbed some you some lyrics from what you were hearing him sing and looked it up and you said Allison Chains And I said Barry, I know every Allison Chains song That ain't it either But it's not them and then when I looked it up It doesn't have any notes about it being a cover and then I dug through some because I was going to figure this out that next day and It's not a recorded song on any of their albums But it is a song that shows up in their live sets, but it does not give writing credits to anybody else So, I don't know but either way it was a lot of fun, but you've got to like jam bands because that's what they are Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's don't be like Bryan I mean that's it's bad You know, that's but that dog show for an hour That's gonna be something. I definitely will be at and if again if it jams your thing, you're gonna love it Yeah, okay so Thursday Again we say it every year we will say it again in a couple weeks when we do our do's and don'ts Be careful on Tuesday. Be careful on Wednesday. Be careful on Thursday. Don't overdo it insane clown posse starting at 1230 Just remember guys you're trying to get through to Monday morning Yeah, the I mean to me as a purist To me as a purist all this stuff's fun. It's neat. We're talking about it Thursday being bigger and bigger than better than ever That's great. The festival is Friday Saturday Sunday. That's the festival I mean in earnest and and there that's the fest that's when all the best stuff is always happening and so yeah, keep it in mind to Yeah, I don't know if you think if the early days are your days and hey I can't tell you you're wrong, but for me the biggest the biggest event of the whole festival happens Thursday afternoon, right? Oh, do we want to tease that now a little bit now? Yeah, we do more than tease it four o'clock The three of us if you can believe it will be on stage in Planet Roo on the house stage along with again the aforementioned he's everywhere Brad Parker and We don't know is it gonna be an alderman we hope so because Bryan just learned what an alderman is a couple weeks ago Right, I bet a lot of you listen are like what an idiot what's an alderman what's an alderman It's a kid. It's a governmental position. We probably will be on stage with an alderman. I hope so just because I want to say alderman But we're going to be talking about What Bonnarooo means to Manchester and what Manchester means to Bonnarooo and how it all works and of course Not just the local businesses, but some of the local charitable events and what they do inside Planet Roo For those of you who again have never been Bonnarooo is way more than just a lineup of live music It raises millions of dollars for the local economy it raises awareness It's always been at the forefront of recycling Yeah, a lot of a lot of special interest groups that again involved this is through the Bonnarooo works fund They got they at least have a hand in it because I know they have something to do with the rerun too so yeah, it's a lot of advocacy and things like that and this is gonna be part of that and Might even be hopeful. We're gonna find our Some kind of act artist to maybe join us dogs in a pile maybe you We have basically a 90 minute sort of timeframe to be on stage we're gonna do a meetup either before and after But definitely we will be there and hopefully you guys if you're listening will come by say hi We'll have a Q&A so you can ask us a question. You can ask Brad a question The the alderman if if you so choose we've already had some people on our discord Who plan to be there some local folks who you know are aware of? What it means to Manchester? Yeah, and this is that you said it already Barry, but I said in four o'clock, which is Moments after anything starts so if it's essentially the beginning of the if Thursday is considered the first day, which it is The very very very beginning so there will not be a ton of conflicts if you would like to come by and say hello We would love to see you. It's part of what are they calling it podcasting with a purpose We're going to do at four o'clock on Thursday The RooHamm guys I spoke to Parker yesterday they're gonna do four o'clock on Friday and Daniel and Sharla and the crew the board there with totem which is the organization that is Put together to get provides basically scholarships for people that totem is in its mission is to sort of create the next generation of people who Not just go to festivals but do things like this Tuesday and Wednesday and and all this other stuff That we get involved get involved learn more understand all the angles that kind of thing. That's right So pretty cool idea I think Brad Parker again and Kelsey came up with this idea and reached out to all three of us By us, I mean these three podcasts RooHamm real rubas, of course the what podcast and so To say that we are excited about the idea of being on a stage in Centeroo at Bonnarooo if You'd have told me that ten years ago I would have been over the moon and I'm over the moon now. So yeah. Yeah, definitely I'm really excited about it, too I'm I am dragging from a weekend of traveling in this festival So I don't I don't look like I'm that excited and promise you I am. Yeah, I promise you I am I guess that's the Friday, right? Let me do real quick Outeroo through Thursday. Oh, didn't look at that. It's not gonna be they they Just let I'm purely, you know organically on accident I mean, I'm guessing I wasn't there in the planning meeting but I it just Exploded it turned in it was just the place to be word spread like like wildfire or whatever, you know, what other? Analogies we want to use for that, but it did spread and everybody wanted to go well Everybody wants to be in the infinity stage this year. So yeah Between that and the scaled-down schedule I don't think they're gonna have to worry about where in the woods being any kind of because it was danger I'm as dangerous situations of people trying to get out of there and I think this is good. I'm glad they're doing that Yeah, very good. They're also doing a almost kind of a different city per day thing Memphis Nashville like different If that scene means a lot to you then that should be pretty interesting a Lot of people don't care about that They wanted to go to where the party was where everybody was and and that's what they did Partied and it got a little out of hand so it still serves a very good purpose, but it's gonna be more for the people who really are That that scene means a lot to them. So that's I think they I think this is gonna be really good I agree take your hammock. That's what it I mean, that's what I always Thought of it as place to go, you know catch a nap get some shade Like I said reenergize and then became because it was it was a cool place that everybody figured out it got overcrowded Speaking of and again, we're ping-ponging a little bit here and I apologize for that but Group camping what sold out this week, right? Then we get that an ounce. Yes it did. Hmm. Yeah So it is amazing to me that maybe I've already said this but that this amount of people Can coordinate this well to make a big group can't play I can't get 10 people together to go to Seven people together go to a ballgame You know to go down to you know, four two three day here in Chattanooga, you know this weekend budget maybe maybe maybe maybe These people are so dedicated to this and boy Look what it takes just to get the three of us to go do anything. Yeah, I know We were at that damn dog show on Wednesday. You know me text. I got said, holy shit Barry's out all three of you What's going on? Yeah That not one or two like three or four or five different people like what's going on with you? Yeah, who got Barry out this late exactly? Yeah, so I get good on the group on the group people man You guys rock this festival kidding and that's a great point because I'm the king of the maybe I'll be there hold my spot Yeah, I'm the king of I want to be invited but I don't really want to go exactly That day I'm like, I'm not going I don't want any part of this I'll be mad as hell if you don't invite me, but I probably wasn't good But yeah, I wanted to say that I don't know what that means I can't imagine I do know From listening, you know again to Ruhem guys their plea Is that they get more water stations and bathrooms out there and I Take care of that. Oh, okay. Yeah It's it's those kinds of things guys that make a difference, you know Can't get water and you can't get a bathroom It's a bad day. Well, and the good news is clearly Ruhem guys they are listening to you more than you ever would have imagined So maybe you'll get maybe you will get just that correct, correct, correct. All right, so we're jumping to Friday Yeah, what is what from my? Experience in without keeping tabs or any record Most people I've run into since January are like that Friday lineup Yeah, wow strong and I I am an agreement of that. We'll do our official picks Soon, you know down the road here not not all that long, you know sometime here towards the end of the month in the beginning of next month The biggest thing for me on Friday that stuck out that I that I didn't quite pick up on my own I saw some others talking about it and boy, it's damn near criminal goose at 930 on the witch and rainbow kitten surprise 930 so essentially head-to-head on the that tent. So there's two things here That's crossover audience those There's a lot of those that audience that's good would love to see both those shows. That's a direct conflict It's gonna screw up be being able to see those As as well as you would like but then the other thing is rainbow kitten surprise on that tent Boy how their ascension has fallen? I know they've had you know they've had tragedy within the band and they've had to kind of come back from that but They were on You know monster-sized stages not that long ago Now that they're you know, I'm not trying to make a greater point other than they're now on the that and they're head-to-head with goose So that's that's a big conflict. Yeah for many They were supposed to be on the what the witch stage two years ago. I think before they probably they were on the witch stage in 2017 first time I ever heard a rainbow kitten surprise was at Bonnarooo which stage 2017 I think that was one of those kind of want to mention earlier. I think that was one of those Hey, you guys are on the rise. Let's throw you on a big stage to get you a big audience and then it just continued to go up their popularity skyrocketed and So it's kind of falling off a little bit But that is a monster conflict for a lot go back to another one earlier in the day And I'm so happy to hear so many people excited about flip turn Which you know 445 on the what yeah Russ points out all the time, you know, we pretty much discovered we take credit for finding them at Moon River Yeah, you're welcome everybody. Yeah Yeah, nobody ever heard of them before we That's right. Go back and listen to that episode, but you got them there them there Where do I live on the wet stage at 445? and Jay Linderman and Who we all agree we like And and this tent and then mannequin pussy on that tent Yeah, there's a touch of overlap there. Maybe no. No, they're just head up. They're just back-to-back That's gonna be a big couple of back-to-back this that for me. I got a wallows So, I mean if you want to put on your track shoes and try to hit, you know See all of these or any of them That's a pretty Pretty good conflict. That's probably right the biggest one for me That day and Friday is stacked you could almost just hang out at the what stage Yeah foster the people is gonna be gonna be fun I miss them the last time they were here John summit the more I just I got to know more the more I hear people are just excited as they could be for John summit and that's so He's got a what stage at 8 o'clock on on Friday and then in infinity at 145 Yep late night till 3 a.m. Who is this guy? What's going on here? I need to know I'll know more by the time we get there, but that's uh People are excited about this and then glass animals. I guess was the host that was that was a lot of fun and oh, they're all fun Brittany Howard was yeah That's a fun idea It's just never worked out for me and after a while I hardly ever did it and then I just hardly ever thinking about it over at the convention center Which is right behind, you know the main the main area basically behind what stage? I've heard the super jam being practiced and rehearsed right more than I've seen it on stage inside of honor So Yeah, I'll be the weird thing is they can't they can't seem to find a place and time for it Like like like a specific time that we can all that year again the one I mentioned Billy Idol had just performed so he just literally walked over from what this tent and Joined in and you know, that was a lot of fun But it you know What it last year was like five or six in the evening and it was just sort of a yeah Yeah, it seems like the super jam, you know It was a it was a product of the jam festival and it was it was meaning when Bonnaroo was more a jam centric central a Festival and it really the lore built and built and built and now that Bonnaroo is not a jam festival hardly at all Yeah feels like the priority on it has maybe maybe dipped a little bit But I'm not complaining saying that's good or bad. You know you never know what the deal is Maybe you know, you don't know any of the what the writers are or what the the scheduling is or we don't know anything And maybe Queens of Stone Age wants to headline the witch stage They want to be the final act on the secondary sound not like the witch stage is some kind of you know kids table I mean this this thing's I mean, especially now they've really improved the stage. It's a great stage. It ain't the what stage It's not that nothing is nothing in the what have they done For Outeroo pretty light. Oh, yeah very light Go ahead hosier closing out. Oh, yeah for me washed out. That's the one I want to see on the infinity stage That's one of the only ones that I really do want to see you know these stage. Oh late. Yeah I haven't really talked about the infinity stage. That's gonna be For me that has the potential to be like the place where I hang out a lot Yeah, and I really don't know Pretty damn close to us. It's gonna be close if it's awesome Like I think it's gonna be I can see me being there a lot. I Think the newness is gonna make it so difficult for that's what I don't know I don't know as far as like who's gonna be performing there. I don't it doesn't really matter. It really yeah It doesn't really matter. It's a kind of stage. I think it's more of an experience to see what it's all about That's why I want to go see saksquatch. It's not a real act It is but it's not like that. I want to see something silly in there. I want to see something Yeah, I want to see something that he's good. Oh, you can play. Yeah Taylor Hansen is gonna he's got a set in where the woods I gotta go. I It feels like it's a must Hansen got a bad rap man. Hansen was like, thank you. I could not agree more. That's a great pop song I don't care what anybody says a good pop song is a good pop song. This is not my original thought I won't tell you who cuz nobody listen this and it will know who it is but a Lifetime friend of mine was she would always Defend the band Hansen when they were big and all of us were like just biggest losers. They're the worst I hate them. She's like guys. This is a young modern-day version of Crosby stills in Nash like the way they the harmonizing is Pretty strong but the harmonizing I think is what her point was Yeah, the way they sing the way they they they do acapella the way that like they are amazing or like you're a loser My son would have been 10 He loved him love love loved him and I'm like, you know what? That's a good pop. I should say which so For other than Friday and the two pretty big conflicts I Think it lines up pretty great for me. It lines up really does for me This is probably my my most conflict free year Just to say that there's really not a lot day by day that I have to see so I was about to say I bet it We're all in the same boat on this. There's not a lot of conflicts because there's not a lot of must-sees on this lineup That's what makes this lineup so interesting and unique For me is that I love it. I think it's a great lineup But there's almost nothing on it that I don't care if I didn't ever see and so that leaves open such a wide open schedule To just do whatever it's freeing. It's liberating to a certain degree. I love it. I'm really freeing But I think also and I Think I pointed this out when it first came out it felt full Enough it and it still feels that way where there's like something all day long each day Yeah, I mean, you know what I mean. Yeah, I like two years ago Especially and I can pull names but it just felt like everything was in a block and then there was nothing Yeah, that might have been 22 well it depends on yeah who you ask but I mean the 2022 lineups I feel like it had a lot of that. Maybe that was it. It was just that was one of the worst lot of There were two or three must-sees and then a bunch of and yeah Yeah, just sitting around this one feels like there's something all day long Yeah, not a lot of filler so to speak right exactly and They make sense again we go back to those lanes you could you can kind of see the wisdom or the logic Of why it lays out the way it lays out All right, and Bryan you went to 420 down in Atlanta Yeah, it was the last minute thing Yeah, last minute thing just got back last night just did a full day usually the city festivals That's that's how I like to do them. Just just get there early You know late morning noon ish and then just pulling all day or and be done with it The the headliner was green sky bluegrass. So you knew I wasn't gonna stick around for that but No matter who the headliner was I probably wasn't I just mainly wanted to see the drive-by truckers But they moved to a new venue called the Pullman yards and Boy, this place is cool. This is a it's kind of a decater If you know Atlanta at all, which is basically downtown Atlanta just hang a right go down a couple of Ponce de Leon and Arts District and all that and It's it's like these big old Industrial Factory kind of the same kind of thing old cities have like we have a lot of them here We're doing some repurposing with our new baseball stadium and they're all repurposed and they're beautiful and huge and this This place. I mean it was a beautiful day. So that might be why it looks so picturesque and great and Everything about it was so so comfortable Concession stands were wide open. I have a feeling the attendance wasn't really probably where they want it I don't know that but it was early in the day. No, no city festival has big crowds early in the day, right? In the concession stand area, I'm gonna talk about won't go on and on here too much, but the VIP and then the non VIP and and the juxtaposition of the two but in the GA GA area All shaded huge vendor market where all the concessions where they had a monster-sized TV Like screen showing the band playing You know on the stage which I had not seen quite like that So that was really neat to you know If you want to get a drink and you can still you can still see the band and you can hear the music everywhere you go because the footprint is It's pretty small. They do all the same stuff with the GA plus VIP, you know the same kind of tiered tiered system. I Don't know if the GA plus Looked like it was worth it or not. I'm not sure the VIP in this case actually Yeah, it actually did and and the way it's set up is they have two two of those old industrial factory Foundational buildings that have been restored and they're basically parallel to each other and then in between is the stage And this is a one stage only Fest so there's there's no real wandering around to go find the other stages, right? And on the right side is What they would consider VIP and then on the left side is not and they're pretty much equal in size and Accessibility to the stage and then they both have their own Kind of dedicated old refurbished factory buildings that serve as the hub for bathrooms and concessions and and and all those kinds of things and I hung around in both and Felt like I was in the same place both times interest like they were both set like There were perks in the VIP that were worth paying for But if you didn't know any better and you were just you wouldn't know whether you were in a VIP section Or if you were in the GA section, I think that's a Wonderful way to put it together because it's one of those if you know You know if you're in the VIP and you're getting what comes with that you get it and you know it But if you're not you're not over there going like look at all the stuff they get They're all so much closer than us and you all feel like you're in the same place interesting and you're not and So I thought that I don't know if that was accidental or done completely by design But I was really impressed with that because it didn't make somebody feel like you know, the Instagram look of everybody's got things I don't have and now you know now I'm angry Didn't feel that way. It felt like everybody was equal at the show Which is not normal, you know that reminds me it's gonna be interesting to see how Bonnarooo handles that VIP area That platinum thing Bonnarooo get rid of it. Get rid of it enormous empty space Whereas somebody said they were in there and it felt like everyone was staring at them now their head, you know I know talk no taco taco lived in platinum. Yeah, he loves that stuff, but he didn't That's even more the reason to get rid of it. He didn't have access to that. He was there anyway No more platinum do all the other stuff you want but those little platinum sections at the tents Oh, you want to get rid of it just cuz I got in there. Yeah Well, my biggest thing was at the beaches show I got there early was up close and I couldn't get there because the damn Empty platinum stage section kept me out and then if I would've but I known better I would have just snuck in like taco, but I wasn't it wasn't thinking straight. I didn't sneak in just walked in Sometimes all you gotta do is ask Act like you belong. Well, anyway, it's interesting that you mentioned all that because that this is you know, as we've talked about it's the experience Yeah, how the different festivals do it and that's the key. So I mean we got an 80 degree day No humidity. There's a lot of shade at this venue So like so many variables were working out so well you bring in a little rain you bring in You know a lot of other things it could have ruined the whole thing. It might have been a total disaster, but overall just from a Attendance and an experience and a user experience I thought was was quite impressive and then so I was only there for a few hours. So I didn't get to see a whole lot Andy Frasco was my first First look at this guy. He's played a boner here recently. Yeah, it was it was Recently. Yeah, it was it was it was people were pretty pretty into it. That was pretty fun cave jam coming up next month That's right. See I was talking to some people that there I was like and I was telling them, you know I got to get back do the show gonna do a little preview of this and I'm like, I can't remember Frasco is that Bonnaroo this year? And it's cave jam. He's that yeah. Yeah. Yep. He was part of the uh rain out Uh Bonnaroo and then came did a show here, right? Russ wasn't it or did he do one up there and in um, that was mark ribbier, right? Right, right frasco did one up in manchester did and I can't remember. I think this it might have been 21 um, because yeah, they did a Several pop-up shows in manchester and remember we went up to see lindsey because he was doing a You know last minute, uh other farm thing there And then uh, we kind of caught word at the last minute that uh, Well, we also picked up spicy pie because they came down and sold a bunch of spicy pies So we went and saw uh, andy frasco kind of just played a parking lot Yeah, because they were really just popping these shows up wherever they could do them. That's what I it's a pretty damn Energetic show for a parking lot. Yeah. It was yeah, it was great. And I remembered he was part of the whole pop-up What mini ruse? You know make it happen type of thing. So Yeah, that's right. That's cool. Um, and then just uh kind of put a bow on this. Um, A couple of performances on the way out one really cool vip set up. Yes. Thank you. I get four People 420 you guys are the best. Thank you so much. They I had the vip, uh For this which I didn't ask for And um, there was a paterson hood mike coulee the the two main songwriters and founders of drive-by truckers they did a acoustic Set in the in the little vip area. That was one of those You know, sorry everybody out there. You don't get this show. It's only 30 minutes, right? It's only 30 minutes and then the the uh Green sky bluegrass was the headliner and then the second to last was the truckers for a 90 minute set Which at a festival is a long time. That was great and it was Just like many of my favorite bands i've been listening to all my life. What's the review Bryan? Was it any good? Yeah, of course. It was good. It was great It's just another drive-by trucker show And and it which means it was awesome. Yeah, and so I then just jumped in the car Haul ass back so I can hang out with you two fine gentlemen this morning. We appreciate it on on a Easter Sunday. Yeah, so anyway great. That's true. Yeah fabulous I I don't do these festivals like just any of them like I used to and when I get to Especially when it's just kind of out of nowhere It's it's it's it's a blast from the past. It's it's it's so much fun and 420 really uh I don't know if it's got longevity because they've I mean this thing was a three-day panic tre Anastasio primus west claypool. I mean name them all from a jam scene I mean they were the best of the best of the jam scene every year huge huge footprint And it is just slowly slowly slowly slowly shrunk shrunk down I don't know if it's got if it's going to be around for forever But if it is at pullman yards and you're in the south and you love jam, I would consider it What else what any other news?
